(Originally) Shelly sand scooped from several spots at depths of 10 cm to 40 cm in the swash zone of the shelly Atlantic Ocean beach in Edisto Beach state Park on Edisto Island in Charleston County, South Carolina. The sample shown has been acidized to leave only the non-carbonate minerals.
