This light gray sand, a mixture of carbonate and diverse silicate grains, was collected from Ocean Beach in the Mushroom Reef Marine Sanctuary near Flinders on the south side of the Mornington Peninsula, which is between Port Phillip Bay and Western Port Bay south of Melbourne, Victoria, in southeastern Australia.
