This page provides links to more detailed images of sands from Hawaii. Note that the sands grade from black siliciclastic sands on the younger southeastern islands to lighter carbonate sands on the older islands to the northwest.
        Click on the image of a sand to visit the page showing more of that sand. That page in turn has an icon for a link to a microscopic image of the same sand. Be sure to see the microscopic images - they're the highlight of the show!
