Mixed Carbonate-Siliciclastic Sands
This page shows sands containing a mixture of siliciclastic and carbonate grains. Actually, the majority of sands on this website contain at least a few non-carbonate grains and a few carbonate grains, so nearly all our sands could be shown here. We've just selected some of the sands that are near enough half-and-half that they defy categorization as a carbonate sand or a siliciclastic sand. Each image is a link to another page with a larger image and with a link to a microscope image - take a look!
